Carmenta Life, a specialist pregnancy, ultrasound and wellbeing centre based in the heart of Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, will be officially opening its doors for the first time on Saturday 29 January 2011.
Visitors are invited to a free ‘open afternoon’ taking place at the new centre’s premises at Chesham House, Church Lane, Berkhamsted (behind St Peters Church) from 2pm until 4.30pm on Saturday 29 January 2011, to enjoy some refreshments, talk to the therapists and learn more about what the centre has to offer and what services will be available. Children are also welcome. |
 The new centre will offer traditional medical practices together with complementary therapies providing parenting support such as antenatal classes, baby massage and hypnobirthing whilst promoting a healthy lifestyle for the whole family, with therapies such as: osteopathy, physiotherapy, acupuncture, reflexology and aromatherapy. There will also be a range of exercise classes suitable for all adults, babies and pregnant and new mums, plus weight loss programmes and nutritional therapy.
The Centre is the joint inspiration of Dr Joseph Iskaros, a London consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, and Cathy Johnson, who runs Womb to Bloom, an established local business providing pregnancy, birth and parenting support to expectant and new parents. |
Of the new centre, Dr Iskaros said, “We will be offering a complementary service to the NHS by providing ultrasound for parents wanting reassurance, as well as 3D and 4D bonding scans. There will also be a full range of women’s ultrasound services which will be open for GP referrals”.
Former midwife, Cathy Johnson, says she has been looking for a long time to find a way to bring quality family care under one roof; “unbeknownst to me, Joseph and his wife, Lactation Consultant, Julie, have also been exploring ways to bring medical excellence closer to home; our approach will be unique to the area.”
