Neighbourhood Watch News Article
Published: 17th February 2011
Yesterday, Wednesday 16th February, three males using an orange open sided van towing a chipping machine, called on an elderly vulnerable man in St Margaret’s Close, Berkhamsted.
They quoted £60 for trimming trees and then charged him £460 after completing the work. It is believed that this same team was active in Kings Langley on Tuesday this week where they did some very poor work for a resident.
If you see this vehicle please obtain it’s index (registration) number and phone the Police using the 999 system. Quote URN 750 of 16/2/11. Do not approach them.
Police advice is to ’never’ deal with cold callers.
