On Sunday 1st May, two burglaries were committed in Dacorum.
The first was at a house at the bottom of Box Lane, Boxmoor around 6.40pm. In this offence an offender offered to clear moss from the roof of a house belonging to an elderly female resident. Another male was seen waiting nearby in a white car. After looking at the outside of the property with the offender the resident declined their services but then found that her handbag had been stolen from the hallway.
In the second offence, that was committed during the afternoon, two male offenders entered a house in Queen Street, Chipperfield and searched the house, stealing property. They had gained entry using a key that had been hidden outside.
As they went to leave the house at the rear door they have been confronted by the resident and her grand daughter, but gave excuses and made off. Both males were slightly built, one wearing a baseball cap and both were around 20 years of age.
These offences may have been committed by the same offenders.
