Two men who were responsible for burglaries across Herts and Beds have been jailed. Matthew O’ Brian and Andrew Rawlings, both from Dunstable, were involved in house burglary and the subsequent theft of resident’s cars. Included in their crimes were an attempted burglary in Piccotts End in Hemel Hempstead and a burglary and the theft of a Volvo car in Pheasant Close in Tring. O’Brian was sentenced to three and a half years imprisonment and Rawlings to three years.
There has recently been an increase in the theft of scrap metal and metal items from addresses across Dacorum. Items left in gardens and on driveways have been targeted in daylight and the thieves have even entered garages to steal copper and other scrap or valuable metal items. If you see anyone acting suspiciously around your neighbourhood, phone the Police immediately using the 999 system. Note descriptions of suspects and their vehicles but do not approach them.
A white Nissan Micra, with either an ‘M’ or ‘N’ prefixed registration number has been seen around the Markyate area and is believed to be responsible for the theft of diesel fuel from goods vehicles. If you see a vehicle of this description and the occupants are acting suspiciously near to heavy goods vehicles phone the Police immediately using the 999 system. Do not approach the suspects but note descriptions and the vehicles full registration number.
