On Thursday 29th July, an elderly male occupant of a house in Ashlyns Road, Berkhamsted was approached by two men who called at his house and offered to clean his pathways.
A fee of £300 was agreed and when a small part of the agreed job had been completed they demanded £5,000. The resident fortunately refused to pay this amount but eventually parted with £500 for very little work.
One male is described as 20 years of age with ginger hair and the second male was in his 40’s and well built. They were using a white flat back truck and left a card with the words ’Four Seasons Property Maintenance’ on it.
Please advise Watch members (especially the elderly or vulnerable) that they should ’never’ employ cold callers. The vehicle used may have the same company name on it. If seen please phone the Police using the 999 system and quote URN 319 of todays date. 30.7.10. Do not approach the suspects.
