Join us in September 2012 for Trek Transylvania – nine days that you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
Not sure what to expect? There’s a fantastic video that will make it all come alive for you -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kibmBkmYUlo – and show you some of the delights that you could be experiencing.
You’ll sleep in mountain villages, taste traditional food, and trek through two of Transylvania’s highest mountain ranges – as well as visiting the infamous 14th–century castle of Count Dracula,
fabulously restored in the 19th century by Romania’s royal family. The Bucegi National Park, with its renowned rock formations, and the Piatra Craiului, with its wolves, lynx, and bears, complete the trekking portion of this amazing alpine challenge.
On arriving in Bucharest, you’ll spend two days volunteering with Hospices of Hope, south-eastern Europe’s leading palliative care charity who are building a new hospice in Bucharest.
Not only will you be helping support hospice care in Bucharest, the sponsorship you raise for your trek will support the work of The Hospice of St Francis and others in this area. We’ll cheer you on every step of the way as you train for this challenging trek – as well as help you raise the much-needed funds that will support hospice care both here and in Romania. For more information, please call Pippa on 01442 869555.
If it’s not for you, please forward this on to anyone you know who might like to pop on their walking boots next year. There’s more information on our website -- http://www.stfrancis.org.uk/Home/Support_Us/Whats_on/Trek_Transylvania_2012/51273.id -- including a link through to the registration form.
