Taste Sensation for Business Clients

    Published: 25th July 2011
A specialist cheese expert from Frithsden gave guests a taste sensation at a special evening organised by Pickworths Solicitors for more than forty businesses across Hertfordshire.

Emma Dandy, of La Cremerie, has specialised in selling top quality British artisan cheeses for the last few years after building up her knowledge of unique and rare cheeses and gaining a distinction in the United Kingdom Cheese Guild’s Diploma course.

The former journalist and busy mum started her own business last year with support from Pickworths Solicitors’ Belinda Walkinshaw.

More than 40 local business guests were invited to Apsley’s Paper Trail last week to taste nine of Britain’s finest artisan cheeses and gave a tutored tasting of the cheeses - three cow’s milk, three goat’s milk and three ewe’s milk cheeses.

Emma talked about what makes artisan cheeses special and some history of the artisan cheese industry and how it today it is a thriving business.

Pickworths’ Senior Partner Ian Tottman said: “Our cheese tasting evening proved to be an outstanding success and we have received an abundance of approval from our guests who found the whole evening to be an enjoyable experience”.

Pickworths partner Belinda Walkinshaw said “We were looking for something different from the usual wine tasting in a local hotel function room for our corporate event. As two of our partners, Ian Tottman and Glenda Ferneyhough are Trustees for Dacorum Emergency Night Shelter [DENS] and Community Action Dacorum [CAD] respectively; we thought it would be a great idea to use the premises of another Dacorum Charity and help promote them too, particularly as it is such an interesting place.”

Frogmore Mill is unique, as it is the site of the world’s first ever commercial working paper machine, so was at the heart of the communication revolution.

The event was held in the museum area of the Mill which allowed guests to wander around and learn about the artefacts on display in between the cheese tasting and socialising.

Pickworths Solicitors provides a range of legal supportive services to start-up businesses.
