La Cremerie, the online artisan cheese merchant based in the hamlet of Nettleden near Berkhamsted, has been named Runner Up in the 2011 Best New Cheese Retailer award, part of the prestigious British Cheese Awards.
The judges of the award, which was sponsored by Speciality Food Magazine, were looking for new cheese retailers with a broad and high quality range of British cheeses with locally sourced goods where possible.
Information to educate and inspire customers, cheese tastings and participation in local events along with ideas to engage consumers were also judged combined with the retailer’s genuine passion for good food.
La Cremerie’s owner and cheese expert Emma Dandy said: “We are thrilled to have been named Runner Up in these prestigious awards and would like to thank all our customers for their support since we opened in June 2010.”
