‘Dressed to the K9’s’ – Kubrick picks her top dog for 2010

This year’s ’Dressed to the K9’s’ Dog Fancy Dress Photo Competition was judged by renowned artist Christiane Kubrick, in aid of Every Chance Rescue (ECR). There was stiff competition as we saw the Mad Hatter, Zorro and a pimp battle it out with a Red Indian, Chef and Pink Lady. However, from the numerous entries sent in from dog owners across the country, the final decision of who would be crowned the winner and runner up in this year’s event was down to Kubrick.

We’re delighted to announce the winner of this year’s competition is Rosie the Bichon Frise (Pictured right)
from Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, who entered as ‘Barbara Cartland’. The runner up was
Lottie (pictured below left), a miniature Schnauzer, dressed as a lawyer. Christiane said “I thought Rosie looked very cute and did look like Barbara Cartland! This competition is a great way for dog owners
to have some fun with their pet, while helping raise the badly needed funds for Every
Chance Rescue. I really had fun choosing from the imaginative entries this year and am
happy to support this wonderful cause.”

The competition was in aid of Every Chance Rescue, a non-profit organisation that provides
kennelling, foster and veterinary care, dog training and support for unwanted dogs, helping
to find them their forever home. This annual competition is run by Walk the Dog, a pet care
business based in Hertfordshire. Hanne Grice owner of Walk the Dog says; “While our
competition is light-hearted in its approach, the message behind it is serious. Every Chance
Rescue works diligently to save dogs from mistreatment and unnecessary death. We
rehabilitate dogs with a way of training called ‘Amichien Bonding’. This has helped turn
many dogs around and literally given them a second chance. We’re delighted that this
year’s event has raised over £600 for the organisation.”
This is Walk the Dog’s second annual online photo competition where dog owners around the country have the chance to dress up their pooch to win some fabulous prizes. This year’s winner Rosie, will receive the winner’s silver engraved trophy from Every Chance Rescue, a professional photographic session and framed portrait courtesy of Ian Waldron Photography, and a luxury hamper packed full of owner and pet goodies, courtesy of Reg & Ruby Pet Accessories, Walk the Dog and life coach Vicky Kelly.

No doubt tails will be wagging everywhere as the results of who’s crowned this year’s Top Dog are announced.
