Calibre audio library, based in Aylesbury, is the country’s only free postal service that provides recorded books for people with visual impairment. This also includes readers with dyslexia and physical disabilities which make it difficult for them to read ordinary print books.
We have over 8,500 titles including the latest best sellers, non-fiction and 1,400 children’s books. Our books are available in a variety of formats including MP3 disk, USB memory stick or cassette.
Volunteers are an invaluable part of the service we provide. They help in a variety of ways including checking returned audio books, dispatching some of the 1800 books that we issue every day, transferring books into digital formats and administrative work.
