The Upstairs Gallery in Berkhamsted is a contemporary art and crafts gallery, showcasing the work of artists and crafters from the Chiltern area.
The Upstairs Gallery is a new venture for the Way Inn Trust and opened its doors to the public on Saturday 8th October 2011. The contemporary art gallery, located above Berkhamsted´s Post Office, showcases the excellent work of our local artists and craftspeople and is a non-profit making organization.
The Way Inn Trust is a charitable organisation and all the profits from the Upstairs Gallery go to the Trust. Set up in 1988, the Way Inn Trust provides a centre for the local community in which it provides post office services, counselling, a bookshop, an art gallery and, most importantly, friendship and fellowship. Any profit that the Trust makes is donated to a local charity.
Much of the work is done by volunteers. In the gallery we are always looking for help. If you are a budding artist, have an interest in art or just love the atmosphere within the gallery environment, you might like to volunteer to spend half a day or more helping us in the gallery.
