The Upstairs Gallery in Berkhamsted is a contemporary art and crafts gallery, showcasing the work of artists and crafters from the Chiltern area.
The Upstairs Gallery is a new venture for the Way Inn Trust and opened its doors to the public on Saturday 8th October 2011. The contemporary art gallery, located above Berkhamsted's Post Office, showcases the excellent work of our local artists and craftspeople and is a non-profit making organization.
The Way Inn Trust is a charitable organisation and all the profits from the Upstairs Gallery go to the Trust. Set up in 1988, the Way Inn Trust provides a centre for the local community in which it provides post office services, counselling, a bookshop, an art gallery and, most importantly, friendship and fellowship. Any profit that the Trust makes is donated to a local charity.
Much of the work is done by volunteers. In the gallery we are always looking for help. If you are a budding artist, have an interest in art or just love the atmosphere within the gallery environment, you might like to volunteer to spend half a day or more helping us in the gallery.
From time to time we play host to the artists that are exhibiting with us or run small workshops. Visit our website for full details of opening times and events that are being held.
